Macro/micro es el proyecto de Tommy Simpson, productor radicado en Los Ángeles con una trayectoria sólida en cine y arte contemporáneo. Desde muy joven, su formación musical se siente técnica y emocional. Ahora nos presenta A.fter I.ntelligence, un álbum conceptual ambicioso que reflexiona sobre nuestra relación con la inteligencia artificial. Y aquí confirma una madurez creativa notable. Este disco se siente intenso, oscuro y profundamente cinematográfico.
Imprescindibles de A.fter I.ntelligence
Clicks (Prologue) abre el álbum con una atmósfera hipnótica y opresiva. La frase “Just click on the screen, it’s so easy” se repite como un mantra inquietante sobre control y dopamina. En Artificial Super Intelligence (Digital Dark Arts) se mueve entre glitch y oscuridad digital. La letra cuestiona la relevancia humana tras la inteligencia artificial, con un tono crítico y directo.
…As We Are to Ants es completamente instrumental y muy visual. Los sintetizadores vibran y construyen un paisaje futurista que se siente enorme y envolvente. Mientras que Artificial General Intelligence: Ivan’s Eyes (What Have I Done?) destaca por la colaboración de Benjamin Jared Miller. Las baterías intensas elevan el dramatismo y refuerzan su carácter futurista.
Sin duda mi favorito es De-Empty, el tema más extenso y progresivo. Con la talentosa colaboración de Veronika Coassolo, es un tema que viaja entre el colapso existencial y la trascendencia.
La música de Macro/micro
El sonido del álbum es impecable y muy bien elaborado. La producción es limpia, profunda y con capas que se descubren con cada escucha. Me gusta cómo equilibra lo experimental con lo emocional. No es música fría, aunque sea tecnológica. Se siente humana, incluso vulnerable. El trabajo de masterización de Rafael Anton Irisarri se nota en cada detalle. Todo envuelve, presiona y respira al mismo tiempo. Ideal si te atraen artistas como Trent Reznor.

Essentials from A.fter I.ntelligence
Clicks (Prologue) opens the album with a dense and hypnotic atmosphere. The repeated line “Just click on the screen, it’s so easy” works as an unsettling reflection on submission, control, and dopamine-driven behavior. Artificial Super Intelligence (Digital Dark Arts) dives into glitch-heavy darkness. The lyrics question human relevance after intelligence, delivering a sharp and critical tone without softening its message.
…As We Are to Ants is a fully instrumental track that feels expansive and visual. Pulsating synthesizers and layered textures create a futuristic and immersive environment. Artificial General Intelligence: Ivan’s Eyes (What Have I Done?) features Benjamin Jared Miller on drums. The track is intense, rhythmically aggressive, and blends electronic genres with a strong sense of tension.
De-Empty, featuring Veronika Coassolo, is the longest piece on the album. Its lyrics move between existential collapse and transcendence, especially in the recurring line “All is love and mystery”.
