La banda Friends of our youth llega con otro adelanto de su próximo álbum Signals, titulado Fear. Desde Manchester, este cuarteto se ha distinguido por un sonido cargado de guitarras brillantes y atmósferas envolventes, y en este nuevo sencillo refuerzan su capacidad para atrapar al oyente con producciones pulidas y emocionales.

La producción de Fear es impecable. El tema abre con guitarras vibrantes que se entrelazan con un motivo de sintetizador setentero-ochentero que marca el tono. A mí me pareció fascinante cómo logran una atmósfera que combina lo etéreo con lo terrenal. La batería, aporta un pulso moderno que le da frescura al conjunto.
Lo que más me gustó fue la dinámica: la canción no se conforma con un solo color, sino que evoluciona entre capas de melodías y texturas sonoras. El Moog en el puente le añade un toque inesperado y muy atractivo, casi progresivo. La voz de David Boon, con matices suaves y tonos brillantes, se siente frágil pero poderosa, transmitiendo esa lucha interna entre el miedo y el amor. Me enganchó desde el inicio y no me soltó.
