NERVED - Kompromat (2026)
Desde Suecia, NERVED lleva tiempo construyendo una identidad que no suena a nadie más dentro del metal contemporáneo. La banda integrada por Petra Kvännå en la voz, Marcus Hanser y Joachim Björkegren en las guitarras, Elias Modig en el bajo y Tommie Liekola en la batería ha sabido combinar metal alternativo con tintes industriales, góticos, electrónicos e incluso destellos inesperados de euro disco. Suena extraño en papel, pero en ejecución funciona con una naturalidad brutal.
Ahora regresan con Kompromat, un álbum que no busca vivir de la nostalgia ni repetir fórmulas. Al contrario, toma material previo de la banda y lo reconstruye desde cero con una visión mucho más ambiciosa. El concepto detrás del disco gira en torno al control, la manipulación y la reinterpretación de narrativas, algo que también refleja perfectamente su proceso creativo. Desde la primera escucha sentí que este álbum está hecho con precisión quirúrgica: oscuro, hipnótico e intenso. Además, se disfruta de inicio a fin porque literalmente no te suelta.
Imprescindibles de Kompromat
Don’t Lie abre el álbum con una descarga inmediata de adrenalina. Los riffs entran con fuerza mientras Petra entrega una interpretación cargada de frustración y confrontación emocional. Líneas como “Every time I feel the urge to smile, you always bring me down” golpean por su honestidad, mientras el coro de “Don’t lie” termina siendo completamente adictivo. Es una apertura agresiva y contundente.
Por otro lado, Set Fire To The Rain demuestra que hacer un cover realmente vale la pena cuando existe una identidad propia detrás. NERVED toma el clásico de Adele y lo transforma en una pieza industrial intensa, sombría y poderosa. Mantienen la carga emocional de la letra, pero la elevan con guitarras densas y una atmósfera mucho más oscura.
Uno de mis temas favoritos definitivamente fue Disclosure, donde participan Jens Westin y Pontus Norgren. Aquí todo explota de la mejor manera posible. La canción tiene una energía feroz, riffs demoledores y una vibra apocalíptica que encaja perfecto con versos como “Disclosure, can’t bring this planet back to life”. La colaboración simplemente es magistral.
Mientras tanto, The Lid se mueve hacia un terreno más introspectivo sin perder agresividad. Su letra transmite ansiedad, desgaste mental y una constante sensación de caída. Frases como “Under my feet is a black endless hole” construyen una atmósfera pesada y desesperante que conecta muy bien con sus capas industriales.
Finalmente, Scars cierra el disco con muchísima fuerza. La participación de Zak Tell de Clawfinger eleva todavía más el tema, aportando una agresividad distinta que encaja perfecto. La canción mantiene una vibra moderna sin abandonar esa esencia clásica del metal que tanto disfruto.
La música de NERVED
Algo que debo destacar sí o sí es el impecable trabajo de producción. Todo suena enorme, limpio y perfectamente balanceado. Los riffs están cargados de adrenalina y tienen una pegada brutal. Además, el bajo y la batería construyen una base implacable que sostiene cada canción con autoridad. Las colaboraciones también fueron una gran decisión, cada participación suma personalidad y fortalece el concepto general del disco.
Los elementos electrónicos son clave para darle esa atmósfera industrial tan envolvente. A eso se suman arreglos más cinematográficos que expanden el sonido sin hacerlo saturado. Este álbum puede conectar tanto con amantes del metal clásico como con quienes buscan propuestas modernas dentro del género. Tiene ese equilibrio difícil de encontrar entre agresividad, melodía y experimentación.

From my first listen, I felt this record was crafted with surgical precision. It’s dark, hypnotic, intense, and honestly, it never lets go.
Essential tracks from Kompromat
Don’t Lie opens the album with immediate intensity. The riffs hit hard while Petra delivers a performance filled with frustration and emotional confrontation. Lines like “Every time I feel the urge to smile, you always bring me down” hit hard because of their raw honesty, while the repetitive “Don’t lie” chorus becomes incredibly addictive.
Meanwhile, Set Fire To The Rain proves that a cover only works when artists truly make it their own. NERVED transforms Adele’s hit into a darker, heavier industrial metal experience. The emotional core remains intact, but the band gives it a completely new identity.

The riffs are packed with adrenaline and hit hard, while the bass and drums create an unstoppable foundation throughout the record. The guest collaborations were also an excellent decision. Each featured artist adds something meaningful and helps expand the album’s overall vision.
The electronic elements play a huge role in building the album’s immersive industrial atmosphere. On top of that, cinematic arrangements make the sound feel even bigger without becoming overwhelming. Personally, I think this album works for both classic metal fans and listeners looking for something modern. It balances aggression, melody, and experimentation extremely well.
