Joshua Hawkes is a singer-songwriter whose guitar-driven Indie Rock is rooted in honest storytelling and reflections on life’s highs, lows and everything we tend to overthink. He now presents Feel No More, the first song from a new chapter, recorded at Islington Mill in Manchester with producer Nikhil Shepherd. Inspired by artists such as The War on Drugs, Sam Fender and Tom A. Smith, the track explores mental health, overthinking and addiction from an especially personal perspective: it was the first song Hawkes recorded after getting sober, making it the starting point for his upcoming EP.
The song captures the exhaustion of being trapped inside your own thoughts and the desire to shut down emotionally when everything becomes too much. Through isolation, drinking and a desperate need to find something to believe in, the lyrics confront addiction and the struggle to regain a sense of peace with striking honesty.
