La letra de Hidden In The Cracks Beneath The Grey me pareció una especie de meditación poética sobre la muerte y la esperanza. Frases como “If we have wings why can we not fly” son tan simples como demoledoras. Me hizo pensar en esos momentos de dolor en los que, incluso sabiendo que hay luz, no podemos alzar el vuelo.
Lament, por otro lado, es casi un eco del primer tema. Como si se tratara del mismo dolor, pero narrado desde fuera, desde quien observa el sufrimiento ajeno. “I saw you crying” se repite como un mantra, como si el llanto fuera la única forma de comunicación. Me dio la sensación de estar presenciando un colapso emocional en cámara lenta.
La música de Heart Chain
Musicalmente, tiene un estilo experimental que se apoya en el post rock y el shoegaze, pero sin caer en fórmulas. La producción está pensada para que cada elemento —voces etéreas, guitarras vibrantes, arreglos de piano— se mezcle en una atmósfera que inquieta y envuelve.
