Love Lighter
Desde el primer verso, «Disgusted with myself», se nota que esta canción no va a suavizar nada. Es una confesión cruda sobre dependencia emocional y autodesprecio. Esa línea «Always one foot in your bedroom door / Always one foot in the psych ward» me partió. Es honesta, incómoda y brutalmente real.
El estribillo «I am the prodigal son / And the ever damned daughter» encapsula esa dualidad interna. Un vaivén entre buscar refugio y empujarse al abismo. Me gustó que, pese a lo oscuro del mensaje, hay un intento por sanar. «Learn to love a little lighter» suena como el primer paso hacia dejar ir.

Musicalmente, Love Lighter es un misil. Las guitarras suenan filosas y potentes, con una distorsión que araña. La batería es un martillo que no deja respirar, y el bajo da ese empuje sólido que mantiene todo unido. Me encantó cómo logran una dinámica constante sin volverse monótonos. La voz de J es desgarradora, cargada de rabia, pero también de dolor. Toda la rola se siente como una catarsis, y eso es justo lo que una buena canción hardcore debe lograr.

From the first line, «Disgusted with myself», you know this song isn’t pulling punches. It’s a raw confession of emotional dependency and inner self-loathing. The line «Always one foot in your bedroom door / Always one foot in the psych ward» hit me hard. It’s brutally honest and painfully human.
The hook «I am the prodigal son / And the ever damned daughter» captures the internal split between clinging to comfort and spiraling. Still, the closing line «Learn to love a little lighter» hints at healing. That attempt to let go feels like the eye of the storm.

Sonically, Love Lighter is a wrecking ball. Guitars slash and scream with raw power. Drums are relentless, and the bass holds everything down with intensity.
