Grote Geelstaart - Kolder! (Progressive Rock)

Hailing from Zeeland, the Netherlands, Grote Geelstaart brings psychedelia and noise rock into unpredictable territory with a sound as fresh as the fish that inspired their name. The band presents Kolder!, the focus track from their new EP Wij Zinken, a progressive rock piece built around experimentation, intensity, and a frantic narrative. In doing so, the group continues to expand a visceral sound that moves from screaming post-punk to crushing guitar and drum assaults while maintaining its uncompromising character.
Inspired by the landscapes of Zeeland and the province’s centuries-long struggle against the sea, Wij Zinken pushes Grote Geelstaart into new sonic territory. On Kolder!, two drummers and a group of brass instruments launch the track with a huge, bombastic entrance before plunging the listener into a manic story. Meanwhile, its organic, experimental, and progressive sound creates a dark, tense atmosphere as a man attempts to finally end an old feud. The tension steadily builds through pounding drums and intense textures, ultimately leading to a cathartic release.
