M4TR - Life Without Her y Hooks (Dance Pop)
M4TR, el proyecto future wave art-pop de AJ Solaris, propone música para bailar mientras el mundo se replantea a sí mismo. Con una mezcla de synthpop, house, nu-disco y una mirada crítica al presente, nos comparte un par de tracks que dialogan muy bien entre sí: Life Without Her, en su versión remix a cargo del productor británico Philip Larsen, y Hooks, una canción que combina ironía, groove y mensaje con inteligencia.

En Life Without Her, la letra se mueve entre el recuerdo, la culpa y esa pregunta que llega tarde: ¿qué habría pasado si te hubieras atrevido? La historia de “la chica que se fue” se construye desde la pista de baile, pero con un fondo melancólico que pesa. Logra hablar del arrepentimiento sin dramatizar de más, dejándolo flotar entre el ritmo y la nostalgia.
Por otro lado, Hooks utiliza una metáfora ingeniosa para hablar de una amistad tóxica y narcisista. El juego de ser un pez atrapado que no quiere soltarse es tan divertido como inquietante. Refleja esa contradicción emocional donde sabes que algo te hace daño, pero aun así te quedas. La canción disfraza un tema complejo con humor, puns pegajosos y una vibra veraniega que contrasta con lo que realmente está diciendo.
