Sillen – Aurora (Cinematic)
El compositor y productor noruego Sillen continúa expandiendo su universo sonoro con piezas que no siguen reglas ni géneros fijos. En esta ocasión presenta Aurora, uno de los cortes más llamativos de su nuevo álbum As Darkness Call, donde apuesta por una construcción instrumental luminosa y llena de movimiento.

En Aurora, Sillen entrega un tema cinemático que avanza de forma progresiva y envolvente. La pieza arranca con una base creada con Playbox, sobre la cual una primera línea de eufonio marca la melodía principal. Desde ahí, la producción crece con capas que se entrelazan con calma: piano, metales y percusiones que van moldeando un ambiente orgánico. El track fluye hasta un punto donde el eufonio suelta un grito agudo que abre paso a la sección final, un cierre que retoma los motivos iniciales pero los transforma en algo más rítmico, vibrante y casi ritual, coronado por un canto vocal.

His new track Aurora stands out on the album as an evolving instrumental journey that highlights his main instrument, the euphonium.
Aurora opens with a textural foundation created using Playbox, where a single euphonium line introduces the main melody. As the piece unfolds, layered voices, piano, and metallic tones build an organic, immersive atmosphere. For me, its smooth groove and hypnotic melody make the track feel both intimate and expansive. The composition shifts into a second section powered by taiko drums, toms, a bass register performed entirely on euphonium, and a trombone quartet that pushes the energy forward. Eventually, a high euphonium “scream” launches the final part, revisiting the opening motifs but transforming them through rhythm, groove, and gradual layering—culminating in a vocal chant performed by Sillen and two of his students.
